The Wind Abates…
…and the fun continues.
…and the fun continues.
…to sun. But even cloudiness provides opportunities.
…on a day of clouds and wind—after a night of significant rain.
Raccoon Poop?
Let the photos tell the story

…and a few of the clouds building high enough to produce brief showers.
Hefty and cool west wind now.
…anchored off the end of the pier. Probably seeking shelter from unsettled weather—thunderstorms sliding by just to the north (as usual).
Looks like a long distance traveler, maybe a Looper. I’ve decided to hold off on rolling out the cannon and firing a broadside.
Right now, two tree frogs chatting, one on my left and one on my right.

In other news, we had two visitors to the wood burning stove—bats—who were removed, though, unfortunately, a little too forcefully to insure their survival. Note to bats…we like you but please stay out of the stove.
Perfect weather—wind moderate (but building) from south west. Calm here in the lee.
Above, the Kagawong post office.
A little rain last night; big wind and big surf ever since. Wild afternoon kayak ride riding the rollers. Had to land at Pinebox beach to avoid smashing on rocks.
Some unhappy big power cruisers in the marina rolling their guts out.
Boneset, flanked by goldenrod:
And pearly everlasting:
Over to JD nursery with J and ME for lunch.
With tomorrow being a civic holiday, massive crowd around the falls parking area. Bumper to bumper, shoulder to shoulder, cheek by jowl. Kagawong is on the map.
Lots of sun. Very dry. Gulls cruising overhead in search of shadflies. Perfect weather for going to the dump, and for swimming. Thanks to Mimi’s efforts the elusive big old anchor was found and tagged.

From chill and clouds and wind to sunny and pleasant. Even managed to keep the swim streak unbroken.
Some rumblings off and on, including now. But not enough moisture to dampen the laundry on the line.
Heading to Pinebox for dinner.
Bunchberries are edible; ant lions are cold blooded killers—but we do have an excess of ants.
…at long last—to cool and partly cloudy weather. Time to chill.
In other news, lots of caterpillars.
At Majas, in Mindemoya. Thanks to Therese.
Sunny, bright, mostly calm, but cool. Perfect weather if you don’t miss rain.
And a little seiche. Fun to watch, but so far just a few drops here.
Morning blue jay confab, wren making its home in garage lean-to, gangs of grackles, troupe of terns on the shoal at Gray Point, squad of little mergansers working as a team to drive minnows to shore for quick dinner. Now, loons calling.
Lively afternoon sail on Heliotrope, in gusty winds, with rail occasionally buried. Nice to have knowledgeable muscle on board. Check out Abby’s studio_bywater Instagram site.
…in Prov. Lots of swimming here. Hot and sunny.
…or, more accurately, a volunteer Serendipity Lane trimming crew. On possibly the hottest day of the year.
On the up side, we started work at 10 am, and most of us quit before noon.
Lots of swimming post trimming.
…loves a crowded, hot, humid “farmers” market. (Or almost everyone.) Huge crowd.
We did buy some stuff, actually
Warm, humid, hazy, smoggy, with a little light rain this evening.
