Big Loop

First big loop walk in a long time. Hot by the last leg, under a cloudless sky, even with a brisk breeze. Pax likes revisiting all the familiar places.

One such, our sturdy young swamp white oak on the creekside trail, was lightly decorated with acorns, and after debating a while I picked some. They may not be quite ripe, but but it is certain that on my next trip by, nearly a month from now, they will not be there. The strange thing is that, with all the squirrels in Whitewater, these few have survived this long.
